The discovered code suggests people could follow one another, send private messages, create group chats and share photographs or videos.
Users might also be able to make their profiles private and approve follower requests, similar to recording audio.

Researchers found references to an application called «com.google.android.youtube.sandbox,» suggesting that Googlecould be using it to test new features before introducing them to YouTube.
The code also contains references to Android and iOSversions, indicating that Google may be considering the experience for both operating systems.
Some features resemble those of Instagramand other social networks. Users could potentially reply to posts with voice messages or YouTube Shorts and react to comments using hearts.
One unusual feature suggests people might be able to follow an account before its owner has officially joined the platform.
The discovery comes as YouTube expands messaging capabilities within its existing app. The company has already begun introducing private conversations and previously announced plans to add group chats.
