35% of the professional desktop video-editing market in 2025, but the more useful point is how well it handles the messy reality of professional projects. Footage arrives in different formats, clients request changes, graphics need updating, and audio often needs work. Premiere gives you enough flexibility to deal with all of it in one workflow.
We tested standard timeline editing, multicamera footage, captions, effects, audio cleanup, and exports. Nothing felt particularly restrictive. The real advantage appeared when we moved between Adobe Premiere elements. After Effectshandles more demanding motion graphics,Auditiongives you deeper audio tools, andFrame.iosimplifies client review and approvals. Third-party plugins add even more options for specialized workflows.
Adobe’s AI tools have also become extremely useful.Enhance Speechcleaned up dialogue effectively in our testing, while automatic transcription and Remix took care of repetitive tasks that would otherwise eat into editing time.
The biggest drawback is the subscription.Premiere costs $22.99 per month, and building out the wider Creative Cloud workflow increases the expense. Resolve offers a compelling free alternative.
Premiere also takes longer to learn than Filmora or CapCut. For professionals, though, that complexity buys flexibility. If your work involves demanding client projects, plugins, multiple Adobe applications, or collaborative production, Premiere Pro remains one of the safest choices.
