Nearly all industries have been impacted by technology by 2030. AI is reshaping industries by the day, resulting in jobs being transformed or erased. The changes are bringing a greater need for AI oversight
“People need to understand that there still needs to be human involvement,” Barry Jones, a Vice President at X2X said. X2X is an AI governance company. Jones said there’s not enough oversight AI oversight right now.
“Imagine an AI assistant preparing financial reports,” Jones said. “That’s a potentially productive tool. But just imagine if that AI system provided that critical financial technology. Microsoft recently announced they offered 60,000 employees buyouts due to AI. Jones has advice for people looking for a career pivot due to AI.
“Start learning AI,” Jones said. “Understand how it applies to your profession. Also understand that judgement, experience, trust and accountability matter. The goal shouldn’t be to compete with the machine. The goal should be to become someone who knows the useful power of the technology and using it responsibly.”
Efforts to regulate Artificial Intelligence are stalled on Capitol Hill but the 120th Congress could take up the rapidly evolving technology in January.
